We provide great results in the treatment of mild and moderate inflammatory acne, by reducing the number of papules and postules by 60-65%. This is achieved using three effective, safe and reliable clinical mechanisms: visible blue light absorption to destroy the bacteria, yellow light to coagulate the feeding blood vessels and infrared light to dry the lesions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should this be done in a series?

We recommend a series of 8 treatments (2x a week for four weeks), for optimal results. A combination of different treatments may also be advised for each individuals needs. Please Ask your Medical Aesthetician if you have any questions about blending and combining treatments.

How does the Acne Treatment work?

Our IPL and DPC technology helps to eliminate the bacteria that forms acne. This procedure is beneficial to those with severe or cystic acne, and who have had little success with medications. The IPL destroys bacteria to clear breakouts quickly and efficiently, and the longer wavelength can also penetrate deeper to prevent future acne.

What does the treatment feel like?

It feels like a really light snap with an elastic band against your skin, or like if someone lightly flicked you, as the applicator moves around the treatment area. The good news is that our equipment has a cooling tip of - 8 degrees celcius which helps to soften the flicking feeling or alleviate discomfort.Your skin may be slightly red after the IPL acne treatment. This temporary redness, which may look and feel like a slight sunburn, may last a few hours to a few days. You should apply sunscreen following post-treatment to protect your skin. As a result, acne blemishes shrink, become less noticeable and then fade after about one week.

What should I do with my skin post-treatment?

Be sure to keep your skin cool for at least 48 hours and avoid anything that create heat (such as hot showers, saunas, going to the gym, the sun, etc). Sunscreen is a must. Acne is an inflammatory skin disorder caused by a number of factors including hormones, stress and the environment. As a result, acne clearing and control is an ongoing commitment. Proper skin care is essential, and good hygiene has been shown to improve and maintain acne treatment results. Use proper skincare routine recommended by your Medical Aesthetician It is important to wash your face with a gentle cleanser (pH balanced gel or liquid soap), morning and evening, and after any vigorous activity. All cosmetics such as foundation, blush and moisturizers should be oil free. Products should be non-comedogenic. Avoid frequent handling of the skin, as well as rubbing or touching any lesions. Acne patients with oily hair should shampoo regularly.

Are the results permanent?

Unfortunately, there are several different types of acne that require array of treatments needed. We recommend a skin treatment once a month for optimal results. Please feel free to consult your Medical Aesthetician for your specific skin care plan.
