Interested in the ultimate exfoliation? We're going to discuss the benefits of this growing trend, Dermaplaning, in which we use with many of our skin care treatments.
Our medical aestheticians use a small, sterile blade in gentle upwards motions. Sounds scary right? In fact, you barely feel it when being performed. With this, it leaves your skin brighter, smoother, more 'youthful' and with a natural glow. It helps with cellular turnover, which means it is great for anti-aging as it aids in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, and of acne scarring. This is a signature treatment we offer here at Skinprovement for only $85 for a one-hour facial and can be added on to many of our treatments.
Contrary to popular belief, removing the peach fuzz (vellus hair) will not create a 'beard' on you. In fact, peach fuzz cannot turn into thick coarse hair (terminal hair). When the peach fuzz is removed, this aids in also removing debris and oils that give your skin a dull complexion.
This treatment is very popular with celebrities and others in the entertainment industry. When the peach fuzz is eliminated, not only does it help with cellular turnover, the make-up application won't get caked on and enhanced by the pesky little hair.
In addition to all the great benefits listed above, dermaplaning helps to prepare the skin for greater penetration of skincare products. When using serums or other products, it allows them to be 'absorbed' into your skin with greater results.
Are there any side effects, you might ask? Nope. There are none. In fact, there is zero downtime. The only thing that we recommend, especially in the summer months for preventative measures, is to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or above as you may be a bit more sensitive to sun exposure.
We recommend facials including dermaplaning once a month to help aid the cellular turnover, and to keep your skin looking brighter, smoother and younger.
